TROUBLESHOOTING
Dwindling wicks: At times one or both wicks can dwindle. This can be caused by trimming the wick too short. If you are faced with wicks barely staying lit, simply blow out the flame and pour some of the melted wax out and relight the candle. Remember, the wax will be hot, so please be careful where you pour the wax. This should fix the problem and the wicks should be burning steadily again. You most likely will not experience this problem with the same candle twice as long as the wick is trimmed to 1/4" before each burn.
Wick has a "ball of black" on it: This "ball of black" is called mushrooming. All wicks will produce carbon when they are burning and also happens more when a candle has been burning for too long at a time. This effect will be minimized if you trim your wicks to 1/4" before each burn.
Wick breaks off too short: If, while trimming the wick, the wick breaks off and won't stay lit, lite it and as the wax at the base of the wick begins to melt tilt the container and let the melted wax run to the sides. In doing this it will remove some of the wax from the base of the wick, exposing more wick so that the candle can burn properly once again.
My Wicks Are Smoking: Burning the candle for too long at a time or burning the candle in a drafty place may cause it. Smoking can also tend to increase when the candle is starting to burn close to the bottom of a container because it is harder for oxygen to reach the flame.
Are your wicks lead free?: Yes!
Some of my candles are more cream in color, why?: All of our candles are neutral in color and will vary from candle to candle depending on the type of fragrance. Some fragrances are "heavier" than others which will cause a more creme color while others are lighter and will be more on the whiter side. Because we choose not to dye our candles little things like that might be a bit more noticeable to some people, while others don't even notice at all!
It is very hard to see, but at times there are small lines, tiny bubbles or wax pulling away from the candle, is that OK?: Yes! Not to worry, this is very normal and does not affect the the aesthetics or the burn process at all and most of the time is very hard to see. The separation is normal in all container candles and is something that can happen from time to time during the cooling process or if the candles are in extremely cold weather such as when the candles are being shipped across the U.S. and experience someplace very cold!
Sometimes, I can see the fragrance coming through the candle, is that OK?: YES! Extreme heat can cause this, and because our candles contain no dye there isn't any color to cover up the fragrance line. All candles can "bleed" fragrance and are less noticeable when there is dye in the candle. This will not affect the burn process what so ever and is quite rare but normal should you see it.
